#67GrammyAwards : What to expect from the Grammys tonight

The 67th Annual Grammy Awards ceremony will hold later on today, 2nd of February 2025 at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles in a bid to honor the best recordings, compositions, and artists from September 16, 2023, to August 30, 2024, as chosen by the members of the Recording Academy.

Trevor Noah, who is also nominated for Best Comedy Album, will host for the fifth time running consecutively.

The star studded event obviously expects to attract attention globally as music legends will swoop awards home.

Some hopes would be dashed as usual whilst some surprises would be made.

What and what are we expecting?

Bringing it to Africa 🌍 which is already on the spotlight due to so many rising stars, expects more drama.

For the Record ;Burnaboy’s “twice as tall” is the first and only nigerian album to win a Grammy ! 🦍

Many of his fans are bragging already that the sslf acclaimed African Giant is set to bring another Grammy home. However, not too many Nigerians believe he would this time around.

A year ago, Burna Boy made history as the first Nigerian artist to perform on the #GRAMMYs main stage 🇳🇬.

On the contrary, the fans of Davido are massively expectant that The “sensational” crooner is poised on bringing it home this time.

He’s making his #Grammy debut as a nominee for “Best African Music Performance” for his feature on Chris Brown’s “Sensational” with Davido! 🇺🇸🇳🇬

Meanwhile, the Grammy nominated singer, Yemi Alade said she wanted to communicate, hence, she embraces multiple languages and genres to showcase Africa to the world.

The Nigerian Afro-pop sensation has  featured on a Grammy-nominated album by Beyoncé and a Grammy-winning one by Beninese-French star Angelique Kidjo; but despite her popularity in Africa and her multilingual songs, Alade has yet to win a solo Grammy.

All that could change later on today with with her song “Tomorrow” nominated in the Best African Music Performance category.

Meanwhile, The fans of Wizkid are placing a bet that Wizkid and Asake would win a Grammy for their song, MMS.

Meanwhile, the Nigeria’s Grammy-winning singer Tems announced on Thursday she was cancelling an upcoming concert in Kigali over Rwanda’s support of the M23 armed group waging an offensive in eastern DR Congo.
