There has been some contrasting accounts to what really happened in Awka, Anambra State as the tragic incidence that led to the death of an EFCC officer remains the talk of the town.
It was earlier speculated that the EFCC operatives had the shootout with the yahoo boys after which the yahoo boy shot the officer to death.
However, other accounts have emerged..
“EFCC saw a Lexus and Benz in a compound, scaled the fence, broke into the house at midnight. The homeowner was home with his family, his wife saw them and started screaming “thieves”.

Trying to protect his family. The man used his pump action, shot one dead and two others injured critically.
They later identified themselves as EFCC and Police, but it was too late. The officers called for back up, but the man kept shooting to alert the neighbors.
Interestingly, the man’s gun is licensed, and he is NOT a yahoo boy. As he was arrested, a host of lawyers followed him to three station.
This is word on the streets..
So unfortunate, a country….!!!

In a civilised society, how can security officer jump through the fence in the night to arrest someone for God’s sake. There is need for EFCC to stop that madness and their excesses for goodness sake. We cannot differentiate arm rubbers and the act of the EFCC for goodness sake. EFCC truly need a reform for a more civilised way of arrest of suspects.
