You are angry at President Trump for halting medical aid for Malaria & HIV/AIDS in Nigeria.
But you’re not angry at the irresponsible Government of Nigeria that owes you the simple duty of care. Your teaching hospitals don’t even have electricity. Ain’t you tired of crowdfunding for your medical bills?
And where is the much celebrated High IGR?
Nigerians prefer to ask for donations than hold the government to fund healthcare. Tinubu went ahead & removed all subsidies. He removed the buffers on petrol, health, education & electricity, but America should continue to fund the healthcare in Nigeria?
President Trump is on a mission. Sadly, many Nigerians don’t know what’s going on. Many are still debating soups, tribe, feminism, sharia/religion, etc. Debates on NG Twitter is boring, influencers tweet all bunch of useless stuffs. The world already left Nigeria behind. My hope is that Nigerians will wake up somehow.
The primary job of the Government of Nigeria is the Welfare & Security of Nigerians. It’s right there in your Constitution. But people will get sick, & rely on the blood of Jesus. Nigeria is blessed, & God is even tired of some Nigerians.
Trump is holding the mirror to our faces, to show us our collective failure as a people. We failed to build a nation, & that is the truth. We allowed tribe, religion & blind ambitions to derail the Dream that could have been Nigeria.
I don’t like his actions, but he is the necessary evil, the wide-awakening that Nigeria need.
Nigeria must begin to fund the R&D of new drugs. You must begin to tinker with Health Security. It’s doable, & you have the experts. Time for sucking up to America for “conditional cash transfers” is over. Ain’t you tired of being a burden to others? You can do it if you truly want. So roll up your sleeves & get to work.
It was America’s Father Christmas to Africa (especially Nigeria), that largely kept Africa down. It emboldened the Rogues in power to neglect their duty of care to the people. Now they will have to steal less, & spend more on funding the healthcare of the people of Africa.
Trump is the true definition of hit the ground running. He is Democracy for the continent so close to peril. Pulling the plug will mean that your politicians will have no choice than to begin to fund your moribund healthcare sector.
