Agony, Tears as Unizik Staff members decry 4-5yrs of Unpaid salaries (video)

The embattled staff members of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State who haven’t received  salary for 4-5 years cry out for help amidst uncertainty from the school management.

Nwoye Patrick, one of the affected staff of the University, on Arise Tv live interview expressed frustration concerning the situation. According to him, the Precarious Situation which the affected members are facing has reached a critical point such that they could not hang on anymore.

Narrating his ordeal, Mr. Patrick who stated that he, alongside others were employed since 2019-2020 but weren’t captured into the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System (IPPIS) platform for these while with so many promises from the school management of their eventual capturing which proved abortive till date.

It was as if their plight would get a solution after the Federal government announced the exit of the University system from the IPPIS platform, it took another turn of lingering unattainable promises. They were meant to believe that their problem would get solved once the university governing Council gives their approval for the enrollment and payment but that never happened even after the governing Council as at then gave their approval.

This unfortunate situation has seen past  the series of Prof. Charles Okechukwu Esimone, FAS (the substantive VC that employed them), Prof. Ikechebelu (The immediate acting VC after Esimone who was the DVC), Prof. Carol-Arinze Umeobi (whose acting tenure was shortlived), Dr. Odoh (who was later replaced) and The return of Prof. Ikechebelu (second stint).

All the aforementioned VCs reportedly tried their best to resolve the issues without any foreseeable Solution.

In his concluding statement, Mr. Patrick beseeched the entire public, the Presidency and all concerned Nigerians of good will to come to their rescue before things get out of hand in the university.
