Anambra international convention center under serious criticism (pictures)

The international convention center in Anambra state has come under serious criticism after the Governor of the state, Prof Chukwuma Charles Soludo held an event at the venue during the week.

The international convention center was actually built by the former Governor of the state, Willie Obiano who is currently facing some money misappropriation charges with the EFCC.

The current government has been making use of the convention center without taking cognizant realization of the deplorable state of the environment.

Let’s focus on why some Nigerians are calling out the Governor.

@oyibo_ugbo made a post on Twitter : “About Today At The International Convention Centre (ICC) Awka, Anambra State.”

Obviously, the innocent poster didn’t notice how deplorable the environment of the “so-called” INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION CENTER is looking.

It has nothing close to holding some semblance of international status.

Someone asked the governor a simple question…

“@CCSoludo This is disgraceful. You can’t do simple landscaping for a convention centre? You can’t tar roads and create parking areas, after spending billions? You can’t make the place green with trees and lawns? Too much mediocrity. Pls call it Village convention center”…

“Red mud everywhere – not even a proper pavement for car park, yet you called it international???? This is supposed to be an inter-council convention centre.”

And i ask…. How much does that conference center bring to the coffers of the state government?

I remember during the inauguration, a dual 500 capacity event halls were also inside the conference center.

Till date, i haven’t seen or heard of any event held there aside state government’s functions.

These critics are supposed to make the government sit up and develop public infracstructure
