On Tuesday, Justice Maryann Anenih of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court dismissed the bail application submitted by former Kogi governor Yahaya Bello.
Justice Anenih ruled that the application was premature, as it had been filed before the former governor was taken into the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The application was submitted on 22nd November, while Bello was not taken into custody by the anti-graft agency until 26th November, and he was subsequently arraigned on 27th November.
