Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan Vs Akpabio’s drama takes different turn

The current disgraceful scandal rocking the National Assembly of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is getting more purifying by the day.

This is a summary of the current happenstances between the senate President, Sen. Godswill Akpabio and the embattled Kogi Central Senator, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.

You’d recall that the entire issue started after Sen. Natasha protested the new siting re-arrangement in the red chamber. She argued that it was a deliberate attempt to push her to a secluded part of the chamber where cameras barely beam and that may give her lesser advantage to making her views heard in the senate.

Akpabio responded by asking for her to thrown out of the senate chamber like a trash can….

The belligerent Natasha refused to be disgraced and stood her ground.

Days after, Natasha decided to stir a can of worms. She accused Senator Akpabio of sexually harassing her sometime ago.

I belive you know the rest of the story.

Surprisingly, so many woman have decided to shut Natasha down, with some trivializing the issue whilst some didn’t think “sexual harassment” as she claimed is such a big deal after all.

Few days ago, in a typical Nigerian shameless manner, some group of women in AkwaIbom state, the home state of the senate President, Godswill Akpabio, embarked on a street protest, displaying placards i doubt if some knew what was written on them. They were heard chanting that Natasha should leave their son (Akpabio) alone.

Round two..

The senate decided to set up a Disciplinary committee to oversee the Natasha vs Akpabio case but made it clear that they wouldn’t be talking or discussing or investigating the “sexual scandal” allegation on Akpabio.

Obviously, Senator Natasha must have sensed that the part of fair hearing on her part wouldn’t be feasible.

As a fast thinking and fearless lady she, Just as the Ethics committee prepares to sit to indefinitely suspend Senator Natasha; an interim court order is granted stopping the committee from sitting on the aforementioned matter.

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s court injunction stopping the senate on investigating her

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has submitted a petition to the Senate against Senate President Godswill Akpabio, accusing him of sexual harassment and abuse of office.

That was an official submission of the petition.

Meanwhile, earlier today… Natasha Akpoti’s supporters stormed NASS, asking Akpabio to step down.

Members of civil society groups on Wednesday stormed the entrance of the National Assembly gate, demanding that Senate President Godswill Akpabio step down for proper investigation into Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s allegations.( members of civil groups is just to make it sound juicy… Majority of them don’t even know the reason they’re protesting…

Meanwhile, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s husband accompanied her to the hallowed chamber earlier this morning where they were they kissed publicly before she made her way into the chamber.

The drama is just getting started….

Watch out for Episode 3….
