Mothers are naturally intuitive, endowed with supernatural connective powers to her children and people around her. It’s purely natural.
This piece would rather elucidate more the INTUITIVE POWERS of a mother with a true life story…
TRUE LIFE STORY :
“I was in front of my office, and I was watching two women converse in loud voices. I wasn’t really paying attention to what they were saying. Suddenly one of them stopped talking, and there was a moment of silence. She placed her hand on her chest, and said, “my pikin dey cry. I dey go house now!” The other woman said her byes, and she hurried out.
I do not know them, neither have I encountered them before, but that gesture brought memories to my mind. Memories of how strong the maternal instinct can be. How a mother can feel her child’s pain, even though they may be far away from each other.
Some years back when I was seeing different colours of shege banza and tufiakwa, I tried my best to manage the situation and not get my parents involved because I do not want to add to their worry.
One fateful day, I had gone out to sell VianceTea (that was when it was still packaged in plastic nylons). I couldn’t make any sales, I went to the shops of those that still owed me from my previous supplies, and none of them paid me a dime. I trekked that day untill my legs got so shaky. When I got home, I crashed on my bed and cried like a baby. I was so down in my spirit and in my body. I thought of how helpless I was and I broke down the more. I cried myself to sleep that day.
I woke up to my phone ringing loudly, when I checked the caller, it was my mum. I waited till it stopped ringing, then I switched off the phone, brushed my teeth, soaked garri, and drank enough water. I did all that because I don’t want my voice to betray me before my mum, because she is so sensitive.
I cleared my throat just to make it sound as lively as possible, and the moment I switched my phone on, my mum’s call came in again. I picked it and shouted with all the excitement I can muster.
“Mummy how are you? How is everyone at home?” She responded, and we talked and talked. She passed the phone to my other relatives at home, and I spoke with them. We laughed heartily as we exchanged banters. Hearing myself talk, I couldn’t believe that it was the same me that was crying few hours ago. Suddenly, my mum’s tone of voice changed, and there was a touch of seriousness in her voice.
“Victor, I have come out from the main house. I am now sitting under the mango tree at the backyard. I want you to open up to me and tell me what the problem is.”
“Haaa! Mummy, there is no problem ooo. Everything is fine.” There was a momentary silence, then she spoke again. This time around, with a depth of seriousness.
“Victor, I am your mother. I want you to open up to me. I know that you’re a man, but please, talk to me like my little boy. Talk to me the way you used to when you were a child. I am your mother, so somethings cannot happen to you without me sensing it in my spirit. Last night, I had a dream, and I saw you sweating profusely, when everyone else was feeling cold. This afternoon again, I was taking a nap, and I dreamt again. I saw you walk into the house dejectedly, and you fell on my body and started crying. Victor, what is happening to you?”

At that instance, I couldn’t hold it anymore. I told my mum everything that has been going on with me and my business. The low sales, the few sales I made, I was been owed, I can barely feed. Infact, nothing was working for me.
She listened attentively, and when I was done, she said, “Praise be to the name of the most High God who has not left us without a witness.” She prayed with me on the phone, she encouraged me, and cited some bible references which helped to boost my spirit. She said that everything I am going through will turn out to be a testimony. She said that though I walk through the stormy waters, it will not drown me, though I walk through the fiery furnace, it will not burn me down. God is mindful of me, and will always make a way for me. She said a lot of things that at the end of our discussion, I was already feeling great. My spirit man was energized, and I felt life in me again. She said that she was going to send some money to my account, that I should use the money and get food stuff for myself. I protested, but she insisted. Few minutes after we ended the conversation, I got a credit alert on my phone.
For the next 18 months or thereabout, my mum kept sending money to my account. All my pleadings for her to stop fell on deaf ears. At some point, she said she was sowing seeds into my life. When I begged her to stop, she now said she was using the money to buy shares in my company.
Which company? I was just trying to sell my VianceTea products but my mum saw ahead of me.
Today, the story is different. VianceTea is now flying to different countries. I can conveniently and comfortably gift my mum huge sums without feeling a sweat.
Mothers are indeed golden. The love of a mother can never be quantified.
