The Two Possible Options for Obasa After his Impeachment

This is all you may need to know about the embattled Ex-lagos Assembly speaker, Mudashiru Obasa.

Obasa has been the serial and longest serving speaker of the lagos state Assembly since 2015. Maybe, he had grown so bigger that he forgot the terrain he is….

He was notable for making some reckless statements, the Igbo-phobic statement after the 2023 elections being the latest.

Again, his ambitious ambition to probably succeed Sanwo-olu became too evident after his infamous speech at the Passage of 2025 bill.

He was quoted as saying… His ambition to become the next Governor is Secondary and even at that, he is fit to be and he may even be better than those that were the Governors which actually included Bola Ahmed Tinubu…

He already has his insigna printed on loaves….

That may be the straw that broke the carmel’s back.

However, what are his possible options as he is currently in the USA 🇺🇸 upon his return.

Apparently Obasa is not even in the country at the moment. So the impeachment was essentially a coup by his own house members.

Now Obasa has only two choices:

When he comes back,
He has a choice to ease himself off into irrelevance quietly or he can try to fight back.

If he keeps quiet,
The powers that be will let him enjoy his life in oblivion where he will no longer matter enough to disturb them.

If he however chooses to fight,
They will go after him hard, they will weaponise the efcc to attack him and possibly jail him. That’s if he’s not killed.
Either way, he is done for.

We have seen and watched this movie before. We saw it with Pedro, Ambode, Bucknor etc.

It is simply mafia gangsterism in display.

If Obasa is a good student of history, specifically Lagos history, he should have known there’s no other outcome waiting for him.

He should have read about Akinwunmi Ambode. Femi Pedro. Ikuforiji. Jokotola. Kofoworola Bucknor. He should have read or heard of them.

The lesson is simple:
If you will go for the crown,
Be ruthless and make sure you don’t miss.
