Unizik Unpaid staff members of 5-6yrs bury another member amid tears

The Unpaid staff of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State joined in the painful burial of yet another member of theirs, Chioma Okafor amid tears in Amawbia, Anambra State.

Jkcyno blog gathered that the deceased was amongst the many gainfully employed staff of Unizik who hasn’t received a penny of her salary since 2019 till death.

It was really a festival of tears at Ngene Village, Amawbia as she was laid to rest.

Chioma died few days after giving birth to her child due to some complications, we gathered.

Speaking to us at the event, one of the Unpaid staff present expressed his grief and pain as they buried another unpaid staff without being alive to see her salary being paid for close to 6years.

This would be about the 6th staff to die without getting paid in Unizik.

“currently, we don’t know neither our fate nor the next thing to do as depression is fast killing most of our members silently, even though Chioma’s death may not be directly linked to depression, he said”.

“What possibly could be our problem?, this question has always hit the rock each time we ask the school management. They seem to be giving us same answers,” we’re working on it. This is getting to 6 years, yet no solution in view, he maintained. ”

” The 5-6 years unpaid staff of Unizik have faced the most Precarious moments of their lives, living in pain, denial and anguish as only God knows when this situation would come to an end, he concluded.”
