Who says SORRY to Nigerians? That leader must have Alien DNA. What happened to unleashing 13 gangsters & attack dogs on mama; tell her (her entire family history)?
Peter Obi is definitely from a different planet. You can’t tell me otherwise. I saw Mommy Donu Kogbara’s interview, & smiled. Then I quickly understood that mommy was speaking the mind of millions of Nigerians.
She is one of us, she is carrying the conscience of a nation in peril. Mommy saw HOPE lurking in the shadows; she saw a powerful DREAM that could have been Nigeria. Then it vanished before she could grab it. She reached for it, only she couldn’t grab it. It the “near-success syndrome;” no one returned from such animated experience & remained the same.
Mommy is the testament that the young & old want the NEW NIGERIA that is POssible. She bore witness to what could have been. We fought the good fight at the polls. We fought hard, & won. But The Establishment had other ideas. They were prepared to rule without legitimacy. Legitimacy flows from the people, your authority is what the people say it is.
They snatched our victory from the jaws of defeat; they did that in the most brazing of manner. They saw our numbers & panicked! They quickly switched off the IREV. Then they told us to go to court, where there is no justice.
Now they are gaslighting everybody, & forcing patriotism down our throats. But you don’t legislate patriotism & human emotions. You don’t beat people & tell them not to cry. Nigeria is our country, you don’t tell us how to react.
Looking back, I wish that we trooped to the streets in protests. But Nigerians were divided, still are. BAT did his homework. He knew he stood no chance against Peter. So he had the judiciary & INEC do his bidding. That was his almighty Master Strategy. He won his bet; now all institutions are carefully maintained.
Peter Obi was going to be Manchurian Candidate for no one. He was going to be stooge to no one, & no foreign power. He contested as his own man, & won. This milk of human kindness is his style that won me over. I’m sure it was the magic for many of you.
Nigeria is a place of no morals & zero shame. It’s dog eat dog, eat or be eaten. There are no political ideologies. It’s winner takes all. So it’s win by crook & ‘rule’ as you please. There will be no bonfire, no protests. Nigerians will continue to live in peace under great fear. It is the Pax Nigeriana, a type of Nigerian peace.
Then Peter came along & changed everything. He is leading the way & showing Nigerians a different path. Rulership by Strongmen have led us to peril, you can’t even recognize my once Darling Nigeria. We all know it won’t be easy to defeat The Establishment; the 1% Nigerians that rule with fear, & dominate public life. They are deeply entrenched. But if we don’t try, we’ll never find out. If we don’t fight, WHO WILL?

Millions of Nigerians had no sheltered life. Been born a Nigerian, life already led you ten nil. Many grew up without any type of love. If the police is not harassing you, the government is overtaxing & demolishing your house.
Then Peter came along & many are struggling to understand his type of love. That is not how we roll in Nigeria. In Naija? it’s better to be feared than loved. When you rule with iron fist like Buhari, Wike & Asiwaju; people will fear you. They will come to worship you.
It’s a type of Stockholm Syndrome, the type prescribed with Learned Helplessness & Stoicism as well. That is the only life Nigerians have ever been used to. Life of the jungle, eat or be eaten. That is our checkered history; we are the legatees of decades of military rule.
Obi cannot change who he is. Like Nefertiti, Peter had a sheltered life growing up. There was so much love in that house. He is the only man whose heart is in the right. If I can follow him, that means he is trustworthy.
